Getting Away From The Books

College. A brand new life in a brand new world. Different atmosphere than high school and more importantly, the work. Prety much all of my classes have reading everyday. Now, Im not a huge fan of reading so I honestly dont do most of it. I usually ahve to wing it sometimes in class. Most of the time my grade reflects my work ethics. But once I finally do all my work, I like to have a little fun. Maybe play some NCAA because its always a competition between me and my friends. I never win so I always get frustrated but its fun still. Other than playing video games I like to go out with people and have a whole lot of fun. Just like the other night I went to an ABC (anything but clothes) party. It was literally the best party Ive ever been to in my entire life. So many people there and so much creative attire. People turned bed sheets into a dress. Like a professionally styled dress. No joke it looked like an actual store bought dress. I saw plenty of people wearing boxes and signs. Pretty typical I might add. My friends wore little skirts and long socks. Me, I had to find something to wear like last minute. So my friend had a chip bag that had a varity of different chips. I wore that as a skirt with long white socks. I thought I looked pretty good my self. The best costume I saw at the party was a man thong, cowboy boots, cowboy hat, bandana around the neck and a holster with two plastic guns. Swear to god, funniest thing Ive ever seen at a party. The cops came to the party like five times but didnt even say anything bad. The only thing he said was to stay out of the streets. I was kinda scared at first when they came. I was going to sprint in one general direction and hide in a tree or something. I was not about to get in trouble. So many hot girls at this party but the hottest girl Ive ever seen was wearing like a duct tape dress. She saw what I was wearing and kind of giggled but I really didnt care because she knows Im funny. SO yeah, I advise anybody who is getting stressed with school and is tired of doing book work or reading to go out to a ABC party or really any type of party. It is a ton of fun. No lie. I cant wait to go to the nex on. Thats how I get away from the books.

College Weekends

During the school week here at Texas Lutheran University, the campus is so loud and there is usualy a lot of things happening. Even though you see the same people, almost everyday you can see something different. Everything changes once the classes end on Friday evening. Everybody leaves the campus to go home. I havent been home since I moved in. But the campus is really quiet and no activities what so ever. Unlesss there is some sort of athletic event going on in Seguin. If theres not, then the town is empty. Luckily, Seguin is not to far New Brainfels or better yet San Marcos. Theres always a party at Texas State. I actually went to my first party there this past weekend. It was an experience. There were so many beautiful girls at these parties. I love dancing with them. Maybe get a couple of numbers here and there. Only if they are fine, if you know what I mean. The campus environment at Texas State compared to Texas Lutheran is quite a difference. Way more students stay on campus at Texas State. I mean, who would want to leave Texas State. I would never! I wanted to go to Texas State's first home football game but I had no ride to get there in time. I ended up going the day there game was held but at like midnight. The party I went to was at an apartment complex at like a clubhouse. It was a packed house that night but I wasnt complaining. I had a good time dancing hanging around with my friends from both schools. After the party we were supposed to go to another one but nobody knew where it was. So we all went back to our friends dorm at Texas State. Only three of us stayed the night there, the rest went back to their dorm rooms in Seguin. So the point I'm trying to get across to all you readers, even though I dont have any, is that if you have the chance to go to Texas State over Texas Lutheran to take it! Texas Lutheran is a good school dont get me wrong but my experiences in San Marcos have been better than Seguin. So take my word for it. I am seriously considering about transfering to Texas State and maybe walking on the football team. That would be so cool to play at a Division I football program.

Dorm Life

Dorm life compared to home has its differences and its similarities. For one, living with a roommate is quite a difference. It has its perks but sometimes he/she may get under your skin. That happens to me all the time. My roommate takes forever and never has anything of his own so he has to borrow my stuff. it gets on my nerves. i know its not a big deal but its just the way i am. first off he acts like he has no respect for my stuff. not even his own. i try to help him out but he just doesnt follow through. Its not like i hate him i mean hes pretty much my bestfriend but i dont think i can get use to the way he is. I came in here with no idea on how his habits were. Ill fight it out though because im not gonna move out and put forth all of the unnecesarry work. Another difference is that i dont have a mom here to clean up after me like usual. Im not saying i dont clean up and all that good stuff because i do. Im just not use to doing it all the time. Im not afraid to admit that i really do miss my mom i just dont ever show it. People call me mean mug because i walk around campus with a straight face all the time. I knida like that nick name cuz it shows that people recognize who i am. Also getting up on you own is not as easy as it sounds. I actually slept through the first class of the day because i slept through my alarm. I was upset and was worried about what i missed. i was praying that it wasnt something bug like a project or a pop quiz. i didnt know what to expect. Thankfully my classmates filled me in on the class i missed. wasnt anything big but still, its an absence. Some similarities is that the room comes equipt with a closet, beds, and a sink. These are a must when it comes to living on your own in college. Even though you have a roommate, you cant always depend on them. They might do something you would never expect them to do in a million years. Its not a bad experience over all but at first i got kind of homesick. then after a while i got used to it so its normal for me now. i just come back to my room and lay down or do my homework that i have too much of. thats dorm life for you.

Reaction to College

During the summer I was excited about the college life. my expecatations were like every other incoming freshman. Easy classes, parties, girls. I pictured that every single day. My hopes were way to high. When I first moved in to the dorm rooms I thought it wasnt bad. Then for the next two weeks I had to get up at six in the morning. Football practice at about eight. I didnt like it already but I love football. So I thought to myself that I can do this because there is no other option. Made it through fall camp and then all of sudden classes came around. My schedule isnt bad at all. Nice and spaced out times. I could live with this. Got to find out who my teachers were and I was fine with them. As I went to all my classes for the first time, I could already tell that my workload was going to be a good amount. I had no other option but to do it or my grades would drop and I would lose my financial aid. Nobody wants that to happen to them. As the next week went by I kind of got used to doing work everyday of the week. Most specifically reading. So much reading for every class but theres nothing to it but to do it.  Compared to High School, this is no joke. High School was more like a free-day every single day. Ive had more homework here already than I had all of my senior year. I guess I wasnt prepared enough. Im smart enough to make it through but I dont want to just make it through, I want to be a top student so I must try my best everyday. All of my teachers love what they do and get into there job. Sometimes I think they go crazy but its just what they do to teach. It doesnt bother me at all, it keeps me entertained to make it through the day. My ealiest class starts at nine in the morning so Im pretty happy about that. In High School my first class was at seven twenty. quite a difference when it comes to sleeping. Thats just on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On Tuesday and Thursday my classes start at ten thirty. I wake up at about nine thirty on those days and about eight thirty on the other days. I would say that my total reaction to College is surprised and shocked. Living on my own is one the big changes. I have to get used to it though.
